VC-A10 USB Speakerphone in Schools & Offices

Unpacking brings joy: Upon opening the box, a small, attractively designed tool emerges, giving off a high-quality impression. Immediately noticeable are the three buttons for adjusting volume and muting the microphone.

After unpacking comes the connection. This is truly simple, as it's a plug-and-play device. It's worth noting that the VC-A10 USB Speakerphone features a USB-C connection. This should be considered, especially if, like in my case, it's intended for school use. It might not always be the latest in technology, so attention should be paid to whether an appropriate connection or adapter is available. Generally, USB-C is useful, particularly if one expects to use it with tablets or smartphones.

The first scenario was a class session, where a lecture followed by a discussion was integrated via video conference using BigBlueButton. The VC-A10 USB Speakerphone proved to be loud enough to fill the room with 16 people. The primary expected improvement from the VC-A10 USB Speakerphone, however, was microphone quality. During the Q&A session, students were able to ask questions from their seats, thanks to the 360° sound recording, allowing the lecturer to clearly hear all questions and follow students' discussions with each other.

Another use was a school leadership meeting, where a member from home office was connected to the office of the other members. Here again, the advantage of the 360° reception was evident. With the VC-A10 USB Speakerphone in the middle, the remote member could hear all three members in the office clearly, and everyone could sit around the conference table with their own notes/devices in front of them, without having to lean towards a laptop microphone or similar.

The device was not used in larger conference settings, so its "range" in larger rooms cannot be assessed.
