TAIPEI, Taiwan — IPEVO is pleased to announce that its Founder and CEO, Royce Y.C. Hong, has been elected to the Board of Trustees of ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, California.
Founded in 1930, ArtCenter College of Design is one of the world’s leading institutions for art and design education. For nearly a century, the College has cultivated exceptional talent across industrial design, transportation design, visual communication, media technology, fine arts and the creative industries. Its alumni and faculty have made a lasting impact on global design, art, products, brands and innovation.
An ArtCenter alumnus, Hong has long placed design at the center of his work across technology, manufacturing, energy, education, culture and the arts. He founded IPEVO with a commitment to design-driven innovation, creating intuitive, effective and context-aware communication and teaching tools. He is also the Founder and CEO of XING Mobility and serves as Chairman of Panasonic Taiwan.
Since its founding, IPEVO has believed that good design is not merely about appearance or form. It begins with a deep understanding of user needs and transforms technology into product experiences that are practical, trustworthy and valuable. From visualizers and collaboration cameras for teaching and communication, to meeting devices and AI-powered transcription, real-time translation and intelligent communication solutions, IPEVO continues to serve global education and professional communication settings through the integration of design, technology and educational application.
“Royce’s career demonstrates the power of design to shape industries, create new opportunities and drive meaningful change and innovation,” said ArtCenter President Karen Hofmann. “As an alumnus who has built successful companies, led global organizations and demonstrated a commitment to the arts, he will bring valuable perspective to the Board. We are delighted to welcome him back to ArtCenter in this new role.”
“We are honored to have Royce join the Board of Trustees,” said Board Chairman Michael Warsaw. “His business experience, global perspective and insight into business and innovation in Asia will be an asset as we continue advancing the College’s mission and impact here and around the world.”
“ArtCenter laid an important foundation for who I became, not only as a designer, but as a design-driven entrepreneur,” said Hong. “In a world being reshaped by rapid technological change, design thinking is more essential than ever. It has the power to translate visionary ideas into the industries and cultural practices of the future. I’m honored to support ArtCenter as a trustee and to help strengthen its connections with Asia’s innovation and cultural ecosystems.”
IPEVO has long believed that design, technology and education are not separate disciplines, but mutually reinforcing forces that can create better ways for people to communicate, teach and collaborate. Hong’s appointment to the ArtCenter Board of Trustees not only reflects international recognition of his design and entrepreneurial journey, but also echoes IPEVO’s continued commitment to placing design at the core of its work and using technology to address real-world needs.
Looking ahead, IPEVO will continue to build from Taiwan while connecting with global education, design and innovation networks. Through more human-centered products and AI applications, the company aims to expand possibilities for teaching, collaboration and cross-language communication.
